Progress through your Wing Chun practice is marked with grades, our equivalent of belts. The first 3 grades focus on the first form.
Siu Nim Tau
Sometimes translated as the ‘Subtle Awareness Form’ & performed in a static stance, this form is all about becoming aware of your body, learning to relax and sink your centre. The techniques are focused on controlling an attacker from close punching range. Understanding of the 5 centre lines, 3 diagonal lines and the fundamentals of balance, structure and power are developed.

Complete Sui Nim Tau. Performed to an advanced level.

Making and breaking contact, developing some flow.
The 3 Sui Nim Tau grades that form the beginning of your training take between 1 year and 18 months to complete if you train twice a week.
